In this 38th tutorial, we are going to learn about Smudge Tool. This is one of the most basic tools in Adobe Photoshop for simulating pixels on a Photoshop Layer or document. With the Finger Painting option checked, we can drag our mouse as we drag our finger in the wet paint in real life. The Smudge Tool can be used with the help of selective blend modes as per the strength level chosen in the option bar. As it functions same as the brush tool does, therefore, we can increase or decrease brush size, change brush tip, and alter brush presets. Smudging the pixels mean we shift the pixels and expand them . Foreground Color is applied to each beginning stroke when the finger painting option is checked ;otherwise, it picks up the color from the area we start smudging from. We can also select Sample All Layer and work on new layer non destructively.
