Task 95 is all about HTML 2 WordPress Conversion under #WPSpartans300 Mission for Custom WordPress Theme Development from Scratch/ step by step. It’s part 2.
In last past, we linked all css and js files of static theme in functions.php. We started in this task from that point onward.
First of all, we discussed how to view page source in Google Chrome. Keyboard shortcut is Ctrl + U. Or, simply right click and click on View Page Source.
Then, we explored WordPress Codex. We discussed all sections step by step:
1) Description of the tag/ template/ code snippet.
2) Source within wp-includes/ wp-admin etc.
3) Change log
4) User Contribution etc
Then we learnt about registering and displaying:
And we converted our Bootstrap Static Menu into fully Dynamic Menu. Fully functional in WordPress. We created demo pages and linked within our menu. We also talked about Menu Location.
Furthermore, we discussed about searchform.php and Search Tag. We converted static search form into fully functional dynamic search form. Then we moved towards Custom Logo support. As we are using underscores.me theme, so, a support is already there in functions.php. However, in earlier tasks, we had practiced it a lot. We just revised a couple points. Uploaded a logo and boom.
Likewise, we’ll keep on exploring WP Codex to convert static html template to fully dynamic WordPress Theme.
