PHP Training for WordPress is our next step towards being Top WordPress Developers in 2019. This is Task 55 and Part # 3 of PHP Training Series under WordPress Spartans 300 Series that we started 3 months ago.
PHP is a wonderful server side programming language. WordPress , as CMS, is built upon php and MySQL. There are millions of php websites and apps all over the world. It’s loosely typed language and its syntax is very much similar to other programming languages.
In this task, we started our discussion where we left off in the last task.
We discussed 4 types of PHP Conditionals with practical examples:
1) If conditional
2) If Else
3) If Elseif Else
4) Switch Conditional
If is a simple condition. If it’s true, the block of code renders. If condition is false, the code does not render. When we add else, it means if condition is true, do something else do something else.
Likewise, we talked about if elseif elseif and else conditional with experiments.
Lastly, we practiced Switch Statements as under:

In the end of Switch conditional, we use default:
We also talked about PHP Timezones and played around Karachi, Kolkata, Dhaka and Dubai timezones and timestamps. We practiced and used echo command to display date and time results.
