WP-Config.PHP is one of the three very important and equally sensitive files for WordPress. Let’s explore its possibilities and try mastering tips and techniques to boost up our WordPress Projects Speed.
In Task 23, we explored WordPress Configuration Dot PHP File. This file connects WordPress Website with Database via PHPMyAdmin. If this file is hacked, the site is hacked. It’s very crucial to take very good care of this file for security and optimization.
We started our discussion with MailChimp Email that was sent before this task. I also mentioned a free asset zip (downloadable from Freelance Pakistan Link provided as under). The folder contains the following 5 files:
1) One zip folder that contains an instructional PDF.
2) php.ini (Tricks to increase memory, max execution time and upload size etc)
3) .htaccess (Ultimate File for Apache Server Configuration for Speed , Security and SEO.
4) robots.txt
In this tutorial, we explored wp-config step by step starting from db name. We removed the Database Name and the site displayed an error ‘ error establishing a database connection’. We again placed the db name back, and the site is back. Likewise, we also discussed how to change table prefix for WP.
Finally, we explored WordPress Codex and discussed a few snippets of code that we can use to increase Memory Limit, and enable Auto Core Update, Display Error Debug True / False etc.
