The keyboard shortcut for Scissors Tool is letter ‘C’. This is simple tool, and anybody can learn to use it in no time. Scissors tool works either on an anchor point where there is a segment or on a path but it does not work on end points. We can use this tool same as we use scissors to cut things apart. It can be used creatively to create custom vector shapes in Illustrator. When we cut a segment or shape with the help of Scissors, it leaves an open path as opposed to Eraser Tool which offers a closed path instead.
